"Shakedown" is the debut EP from Long Island outfit New Pollution. Recorded sporadically from January 2019 to October 2019, the EP is the culmination of many shades of musical history from the 1960s up until the present. New Pollution's ambiguous blend of genre and styles takes a front seat here, with tracks ranging from dancefloor shakers to Glam rock snottiness. The main goal of "Shakedown" is to instill energy and new life into underground rock n roll. At every turn, the band has chosen to defy any modern standards of "indie" and "electronic" in a self-aware move that aims to breach the confines of modern music. Lyrically, each track on the record explores some elements of modernism, group identity, and artistic frustration. With influences ranging from ESG to Herbie Hancock, New Pollution demonstrates their knowledge of musical history to channel styles, themes, and motifs into bona fide musicianship.

This record is to be enjoyed loud. Radio must remain free.
